Cleaning out your browser bookmarks

Do you have a ton of browser bookmarks? I had 2,800 bookmarks in my Chrome. Yipes! The oldest bookmark was from August 2005. These have been collecting for over ten years. Many of the sites are dead, or I just don’t care about them.

bookmark-checker-chrome-extensionI managed to delete 1,500 of my bookmarks using the very handy Chrome extension, Bookmark Checker. It didn’t take very long either! This extension makes it super easy to find duplicate bookmarks and dead ones. I had about 800 bookmarks pointing to websites that were dead!

Install this extension and give it a run. It’ll mark the dead bookmarks and ask you which ones you’d like to delete.
