The music you listened to as a newborn

Imagine if you could know exactly which songs you listened to when you were a few months old. That would be pretty interesting, right? Today’s babies can have that sort of information.

My daughter turned three months last week. Here’s a chart of what I’ve listened to in that time:

Music from the first three monthsGenerated by lists.fm/spudart (and clicking on “3 month”)

Beethoven for Babies
This list is dominated by “Robbins Island Music Group“, which is classical music in a baby style.

Motown: Complete #1's
My daughter also loves motown, so the “Motown: The Complete No. 1’s” has lots of playtime. It’s an incredible playlist with 200 songs.

Moby – Long Ambients 1: Calm. Sleep
Moby’s Long Ambients album came out a couple months before she was born, so that got some heavy usage during her first month. Over four hours of peaceful music to lull you to sleep.

You can generate a chart like this by joining Last.fm. The service is so handy for these sort of analysis of your listening habits. Everyone should join last.fm and start tracking what you listen to. You can track Spotify, Google Music, Soundcloud, even Youtube! If you join last.fm, let me know. You can find me there as spudart.
