A slow modem is a pigeon – Spudart
Wow! Urban Dictionary accepted my definition of pigeon! The last time I got a definition into Urban Dictionary was pinbombed in 2013. Four long years.

Help us decide what goes on the gallery walls — LSU Museum of Art
Due to the detail of this artwork, it would be the most interesting to see in person up close @LSUMuseumofArt. Actually, this would be super sweet to see online in a high-resolution image, too.

What’s My Productivity Routine Like? – Chris Thilk
You can keep three different gmail accounts open in the same browser? I always use separate browsers, because I didn’t think that was possible.

Work of the Week: The Chicago Panels | The Art Institute of Chicago
Oh wow. I never knew those Ellsworth Kelly panels were commissioned specifically for that space on the second floor in the Rice Building.

A new study has identified the least affordable neighborhoods in Chicago
To get a more accurate measure of rental’s affordability, shouldn’t this look only at the incomes of people who rent? Including the incomes of people who live in a house would skew the results.

Other design entries for the library included having the library built around the CTA station, so people could enter the library directly from the train. That would be so much better than having to go up the myriad of escalators just to get to the stacks. Here’s a hot tip. Enter the library on the backside of the west side of the building. There is an entry door there! And you get immediate access to the elevators! They recently changed the elevator policy where you can use those elevators from the first floor to any floor in the building.

DSC_1847 | A girl draws on the Square pavement at Lincoln Sq… | Flickr
I lived in Lincoln Square for 13 years, and used to walk through Giddings Plaza every day. I miss seeing the chalk drawings on the pavers.

I Wrote a Joke! I Wrote An Actual Joke! – Mary Fons
“The. Saurus. reinforces the play on words. “The thesaurus” forces you to say the phrase too quickly, and thus passing over the clever play of words.

I Am Plain Avocado Toast, And That’s Okay – Balancing Kat
Oh wow! I’ve never made avocado toast. That’s a great idea! Oh! There’s more to this blog post! I only read as far as “A delicious, ‘basic’ culinary treat that seemed to hold a place in our hearts overnight, yet has been around for a bit.” Beyond that point you use avocado toast as a metaphor. Nice! I compare myself to others success online way too much. I need to start as avocado toast too.

Comixology alternatives for digital comics readers | Anthony’s Notes
Oh wow, Kobo is a bigger player internationally. Well, you go Kobo! I use Comixology to read comics. Whenever I can get my hands on hi-res PDF and ebooks (without DRM), i’m super happy. A couple years ago Humble Bundle offered a ton of Transformers comics in multiple-formats, DRM free. That’s the best!

Your guide to Taste of Chicago 2017 – Chicago Tribune
This listing is really nice. I’d like to see the Taste of Chicago release a menu of all the restaurant with the ticket prices for each food item. Right now I go to the Taste and scout out all the prices manually walking up and down the row. I’m less likely to go to the Taste every year, because I don’t really want to spend the time manually scouting the prices. Would the Chicago Tribune be able to post the ticket prices for each food item? That would be a tremendous help. I imagine it would help encourage more people to come. Or at least the really crazy-detailed people like me.

For all the Shawon Dunston cards that I collected, it’s funny that I don’t recall this one!Stored on: July 3, 2017
By doing these monthly comment round-ups, I’ve found a new routine. Once I post the monthly links, I click through on each link to see if the author of the blog post replied to my comment. In some cases, I miss a response from the author, so manually checking each link catches that oversight.
